June 17, 2004 

ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 06-11-04, at 10:10 p.m., a 25-year-old Silver Spring man was in the 9100 block of Piney Branch Rd. in Silver Spring, when a suspect approached him from behind. The suspect (B/M, 6’2”, medium build, gray sweatshirt with hood, baseball cap) pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded money. The victim dropped his phone, keys, and a pizza and ran away. The suspect picked up the items and ran towards a wooded area off of Piney Branch Road. 

            -On 06-11-04, at 10:33 p.m., a 22-year-old Washington, D.C. woman was walking in the 7700 block of Fenton St. in Silver Spring, when a car approached her and stopped. The first suspect, the passenger, got out of the car. The driver stayed in the car. Suspect #1 (Hispanic/M, 20s, 5’6”-5’8”, 170-180 lbs., black ball cap with red trim, black golf shirt) was ran towards her and was armed with a knife.  He grabbed her purse and she let go. Suspect #1 got into the car (Honda or Acura, dark red or blue) which was last seen on Fenton Street towards New York Avenue.

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 06-11-04, at 5:50 a.m., a 37-year-old Silver Spring woman was the victim of a strong-arm robbery in the 700 block of Gilbert Place in the New Hampshire Estates area of Silver Spring.  A suspect approached her from behind and punched her in the face. The suspect and victim struggled over her purse.  The strap broke and the suspect (B/M, 5’8”-5’10”, 200 lbs., mustache, black short sleeve shirt, dark pants) ran toward University Boulevard.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT/ARREST 

            -On 06-06-04, Nicholas Lewis Watson, age 24, no current fixed address, was arrested and charged with First and Second-degree Assault, three counts of Possession of Cocaine, two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Resisting Arrest. The arrest was a result of an incident in the 13800 block of Castle Blvd. in Silver Spring.

BURGLARY ARREST 

            -On 06-12-04, Amir Syamak Zarinkelki age 44, of the unit block of Leatherleaf Ct. in Gaithersburg was arrested and charged with First-degree Burglary and Malicious Destruction of Property. 

            -On 06-11-04, a 13-year-old Rockville juvenile and a 14-year-old juvenile were arrested and charged with two counts of First-degree Burglary, two counts of Third-degree Burglary, two counts of Fourth-degree Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Theft Under $500. The arrests were the results of incidents on Jennings Road in Kensington and Torrence Road in Silver Spring.

            -12300 block of Dewey Rd., Rockville, between 7:30 a.m. on 06-06-04 and 10:30 a.m. on 06-11-04. Broke out window, nothing taken.

            -12400 block of Village Square Terrace, Rockville, between 7:10 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. on 06-11-04. Forced open door, suitcase, DVDs taken.

            -4100 block of Garrett Park Rd., Wheaton, between 8:40 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. on 06-11-04. Broke though garage door, nothing taken.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -COLUMBIA NATIONAL MORTGAGE CORP., 7920 Norfolk Ave., Bethesda, between 6:00 p.m. on 06-09-04 and 9:00 a.m. on 06-10-04. Forced opened door, computer taken.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -OFFICE OF GOTTLIEB, STANLEY H., 10008 Colesville Rd., Silver Spring, between 5:15 p.m. on 06-07-04 and 7:45 a.m. on 06-08-04. Entered office, money and stamps taken.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -8400 block of Galveston Rd., Silver Spring, between 10:00 p.m. on 06-10-04 and 2:00 p.m. on 06-11-04. Entered garage, bicycle taken.

            -8700 block of Gilbert Place, Silver Spring, between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on 06-10-04. Entered home, jewelry, money, VCR taken.

            -8500 block of Springvale Rd, Silver Spring, at 9:45 a.m. on 06-09-04. Attempt to pry open front door, cash taken.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -WELLER RD. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 3301 Weller Rd., Wheaton, at 8:55 p.m. on 06-08-04. Pried open window, cell phone taken.

            -RIAR AND ALTSCHULER, M.D. PA, 1299 Lamberton Dr., Wheaton, between 5:30 p.m. on 06-10-04 and 6:43 a.m. on 06-11-04. Climbed through window, money taken.

            -GLENMONT CIRCLE APARTMENTS, 2328 Glenmont Circle, Wheaton, between 12:00 a.m. on 06-09-04 and 11:59 p.m. on 06-11-04. Pried open window, nothing taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -14600 block of Sandy Ridge Rd., Silver Spring, between 6:45 a.m. on 06-12-04 and 10:35 p.m. on 06-13-04. Broke out window, handgun, money, and backpack taken.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -CANYON CONSTRUCTION CORP., 24012 Frederick Rd., Clarksburg, between 11:00 on 06-11-04 and 7:00 a.m. on 06-14-04. Cut padlock on door of construction trailer, tools taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -18700 block of Paprika Ct., Germantown, at 12:00 p.m. on 06-09-04. Entered home, computer taken.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -DECOVERLY POOL, 10000 Vanderbilt Circle, Rockville, between 8:30 p.m. on 06-11-04 and 10:30 a.m. on 06-12-04. Broke into office, stereo taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -8800 block of Welbeck Way, Gaithersburg, between 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on 06-12-04. Unknown entry, unknown amount taken.

            -17100 block of Amity Dr., Derwood, between 3:00 p.m. on 05-10-04 and 5:00 p.m. on 06-09-04. Broke into shed, bicycles taken.
