RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

June 20, 2005

 

ARMED ROBBERY 

-On 06-13-05, at 9:30 p.m., a 21-year-old Silver Spring woman was walking in the 400 block of E. Franklin Ave. when she was approached by two suspects. Suspect #2 grabbed her from behind and threatened her with a knife. Suspect #2 then took the victim's jewelry and purse. The suspects then fled toward University Boulevard. Victim refused medical treatment.
Suspect #1 - Hispanic/M, 23-27, 5'3"-5'5",130-140 Ibs., light skin, white T-shirt,             blue jeans, skinny, "dirty".
Suspect #2 - Hispanic/M, 5'6"-5'9", 150-170 Ibs., dark skin, medium build,                          muscular, blue jeans, black shirt and "dirty". 

-On 06-13-05, at 3:45 a.m., a 20-year-old Silver Spring man exited his vehicle at the intersection of Northampton Dr. and Beacon Dr. in Silver Spring, when a four-door Cadillac Deville, champagne in color, pulled behind the victim. Suspect #2 got out of the vehicle, approached the victim, and demanded money. The victim complied and then suspect #1 got out of the car and struck the victim in the head. The suspects then got back into their car and were last seen driving onto Northampton Dr. towards Colony Road. Victim refused medical treatment.
Suspect #1 - Hispanic/M, 20s, 5'8"-5'11", 150-170 Ibs., blue jeans, white shirt with cutoff­ sleeves.
Suspect #2 - Hispanic/M, 20s, 5'5"-5'7", 135-155 Ibs., blue jeans, grey shirt with cutoff-sleeves. 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

-On 06-10-05; at 9:00 p.m., a 39-year-old Frederick man was walking on Flower Ave. at Barron St. in Silver Spring, when Suspect #1 approached the victim and demanded all his property. The suspect struck the victim, knocking him to the ground. Then Suspect #1 and about three more suspects began kicking the victim. Suspect #1 took cash from the victim and all the suspects fled on foot. The victim was treated and released from a local hospital. There is no description of the additional suspects.
Suspect #1 - Hispanic/M, 30-40, 5'10", heavy, dark-skinned.

 

-On 06-14-05, at 8:00 p.m., a 28-year-old male was walking in a parking lot in the 13200 block of Twinbrook Parkway in Rockville, when he was approached by three suspects. One suspect demand money and the victim refused. The suspects then began to punch the victim and then fled without obtaining any property.
Suspect #1 - Hispanic/M, 30-35, blue jeans, camouflage shirt, short black hair.
Suspect #2 - Hispanic/M, 30-35.
Suspect #3 - Hispanic/M, 30-35. 

-On 06-10-05, at 3:00 p.m., an 18-year-old Damascus male was in the parking lot at the Weis Shopping Center in Damascus when two suspects approached him. They knocked the victim to the ground, kicked him, and removed cash from his wallet. The suspects fled towards the Ridge Manor Terrace. Victim was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.
Suspect #1 - B/M, 17-22,5'11"-6'0", medium build, jeans.
Suspect #2 - B/M, 17-22,5'11"-6'0", medium build, silver necklace. 

-On 06-11-05, at 11 :30 p.m. a Suitland man was leaving St. Camillus Church, 1600 St. Camillus Drive in Silver Spring, when he was approached by several suspects, described only as black males. The suspects knocked the victim to the ground and took his property. The victim was later admitted to a hospital in southern Maryland with non-life threatening injuries.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

-On 06-14-05, at 5:10 p.m., two Hispanic males, ages 16 and 17, both of Silver Spring, were attacked in the 700 block of Southampton Road in Silver Spring by at least 10 gang members. The victims were attacked by 10 Hispanic males carrying knives, baseball bats, and machetes. Both victims, who were cut and beaten, were transported to the local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

 

4TH DEGREE SEX OFFENSE 

-On 06-13-05, at 4:15 p.m., a 26-year-old Silver Spring woman was approached and fondled by a parking garage attendant of a building in the 8700 block of First Ave. in Silver Spring. The suspect's identity is known and the investigation is continuing.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT T/ARREST 

-On 06-13-05, Jose A. Escamilla, 42, of the 100 block of Croyden Ct. in Silver Spring, was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Assault. The arrest was a result of a domestic dispute that occurred earlier in the day.

 

INDECENT EXPOSURE ARREST 

-On 06-13-05, Carlos Calix, 22, of the 800 block of Quince Orchard Blvd. in Gaithersburg, was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure and Disorderly Conduct. The arrest was a result of an incident that day in the 8500 block of Geren Rd. in Silver Spring.

            -GUDE SELF STORAGE, 851 E. Gude Dr. in Rockville, between 6:15 p.m. on 06-13-05 and 8:25 a.m. on 06-14-05. Forced entry, nothing taken.

            -MA BONGIOVANNI INC., 10422 Sandringham Ct. in Potomac, between 2:30 p.m. on 06-09-05 and 9:00 a.m. on 06-10-05. Forced entry, nothing taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -10200 block of Shining Willow Dr. in Rockville, between 11 :00 p.m. on 06-12-05 and 6:00 a.m. on 06-13-05. Entry made, no force, property taken.

            -100 block of Pastureside Place in Rockville, between 10:15 p.m. and 11 :31 p.m. on 06­12-05. Entry made, no force, property taken.

            -11000 block of Haislip Ct. in Potomac, between 11 :00 p.m. on 06-13-05 and 5:00 a.m. on 06-14-05. Entry made, no force, property taken.

            -11500 block of Patapsco Dr. in Rockville, at 11 :00 a.m. on 06-13-05. Forced entry, nothing taken.

            -11500 block of Patapsco Dr. in Rockville, between 8:20 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on 06-13­05. Forced entry, nothing taken.
