RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

June 23, 2006

ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 06-10-06, at 10:44 p.m., a 54-year-old Germantown woman was in a parking lot in the 13500 block of Champion Way when a suspect approached her as she exited her vehicle. The suspect displayed a black object which may have been a gun. He demanded money and the victim handed over some cash. The suspect fled back to the bushes and met with Suspect #2. They disappeared into the tree line near the rear of the Clopper Mill 7-Eleven Store.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 18-30, 5’10”, 145-150 lbs., corn rows, blue bandana, blue jeans.  

            -On 06-11-06, at 10:40 p.m., a 16 year-old Germantown youth was approached by a known Hispanic male in the 20200 block of Shipley Terrace. The suspect offered drugs and the victim refused. Two other suspects appeared and one of them pulled a knife from his waistband. Another suspect pulled a gun. The suspect then fled on foot after obtaining money.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 16-17, red shirt, white bandana, blue jeans, black shoes.
            -Suspect #2 – B/M, 16-18, 5’8”-5’11”, 120-155 lbs., long hair, black ski mask, black shirt, blue slacks.
            -Suspect #3 – B/M, 15-16, 5’0”-5’4”, black hat, black cell phone. 

            -On 06-08-06, at 12:15 a.m., a 21-year-old Gaithersburg man was in the area of Cross Country Way and Strawberry Knoll Road when he encountered a known person. The suspect pulled a gun and asked for money. The victim handed over cash. The suspect’s identity is known and the investigation is continuing.  

            -On 06-10-06, at 10:00 p.m., a 20-year-old Germantown man was found walking without any clothes on Apple Ridge Rd. near Watkins Mill Road. The incident actually occurred at Plum Gar Park on Scenery Dr. near N. Frederick Avenue. There, a black male suspect had approached him, pulled a revolver, and told him to take off his clothes. Two other suspects were in the area. They took money from his clothes.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 19-22, 5’7”-5’8”, 140-150 lbs., black shirt, blue jeans, tan boots. 

            -On 06-09-06, at 3:07 a.m., the 7-Eleven Store, located at 13501 Clopper Rd. in Germantown was robbed. A lone suspect entered the store and posed as a customer. When the clerk opened the register to complete the transaction, the suspect displayed a small firearm and demanded money. The suspect then fled the store and was picked up by a small dark sedan.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 20-30, 5’0”, 120-130 lbs., black shirt, pants, and hat. 

            -On 06-12-06, at 11:10 a.m., the PNC bank, located at 10211 Old Georgetown Rd. in Bethesda was robbed. A lone suspect entered the bank and approached a teller and told her put the money in a bag. He obtained cash. (Previous Press Release Issued)
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 5’9”-6’0”, 140-160 lbs., blue jeans, yellow jacket, white gloves. 

            -On 06-12-06, at 9:55 p.m., a taxi driver for District Cab picked up a fare in Silver Spring and dropped him off in the area of Cascade Drive and Bucknell Drive. As the suspect left the cab, he displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victim complied.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 20-25, 6’0”-6’1”, 180-185 lbs., gray jeans, green shirt, black shoes.  

            -On 06-10-06, at 10:20 p.m., a taxi driver for D.C. Flyer Taxi Co. picked up a fare in D.C. and took him to the intersection of Georgia Ave. and Plyers Mill Road. The suspect displayed a black handgun and demanded money and a cell phone from the victim. After obtaining the belongings, the suspect exited the vehicle.
            -Suspect #1 – W/M, 25, 6’0”, 150 lbs., brown Military hat, blue jacket, blue jeans. 

            -On 06-10-06, at 9:30 a.m., the Check Cashing Depot, located at 24 Vital Way in Sivler Spring was robbed. A suspect entered the store and produced a silver handgun. He stole the victim’s purse containing her wallet. The suspect left the store.
            -Suspect #1 – W/M, 35-40, 5’8”-6’0”, 175-220 lbs., very short hair, red plaid shirt, black shirt. 

            -On 06-10-06, at 5:05 a.m., the CVS Pharmacy, located at 12359 Georgia Ave. in Wheaton was robbed. A lone suspect entered the store and displayed a handgun. The suspect obtained cash. The suspect left the store and entered a silver station wagon.
            -Suspect #1 – B/F, 5’7”-5’9”, 200 lbs., heavy build, blue skirt, gray jacket, white shirt.

            -On 06-15-06, at 11:06 p.m., two Gaithersburg youths, ages 19 and 21, were in the area of Spiceberry Circle in Gaithersburg when they were attacked by 4-5 black male suspects. They were kicked by the suspects and knocked to the ground. Two of the suspects had poles which they used as weapons. One of the suspects had a kitchen knife.

            -8900 Hollyleaf Lane in Potomac, between 6:00 pm on 06-13-06 and 8:00 am on 06-14-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -8000 block of Horseshoe Lane in Potomac, at 4:30 am on 06-16-06. No forced entry, vehicle taken from garage.

            -4400 block of Randolph Road in Wheaton, between 11:00 am and 2:30 pm on 06-16-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -7200 block of Wapello Drive in Rockville, at 9:00 pm on 06-14-06. Forced entry, property taken.
