ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 06-17-04, at 11:40 a.m., an 18-year-old Silver Spring man was leaving an apartment in the 3200 block of Hewitt Ave. in Silver Spring when 2 suspects knocked on the door and then pushed their way in. The suspects forced the victim to kneel and threatened him with a knife. They took jewelry and cash from the victim. They then left in a dark green minivan.
            -Suspect #1 – Hispanic/M, 40-45, 5’10”-6’0”, white shirt with black stripes, black pants, glasses.
            -Suspect #2 – Hispanic/M, 20-25, 5’8”-5’10”, white jersey shirt, black pants, dark green baseball hat with strap. 

            -On 06-19-04, at 1:50 a.m., a 20-year-old Silver Spring man was in the 12200 block of Georgia Ave. when he was approached from behind by 2 suspects. They grabbed the victim. They produced a knife and cut the victim on the cheek. They took cash, a wallet and clothes. They fled in an unknown direction.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 17, 5’10”, 160 lbs., short black hair, gray T-shirt, jeans.
            -Suspect #2 – B/M, 17, 5’7”, 150 lbs., short black hair.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 06-18-04, at 10:50 p.m., a 41-year-old Silver Spring woman parked her car in the 3100 block of Beaverwood Lane in Silver Spring and then noticed a suspect walking toward her. The suspect (B/M, 5’9”, 200 lbs., white bandana around face, white and red checkered shirt) grabbed her purse and a struggle ensued. The suspect hit her and took her purse, knocking her to the ground.  He then fled on foot in an unknown direction. 

            -On 06-15-04, at 12:40 a.m., a 41-year-old Gaithersburg woman was walking in the 400 block of Girard St. when a suspect approached and grabbed her back pack. A struggle ensued and the suspect (B/M, 29, 5’10”, 170 lbs., shaved head, slight growth of beard, athletic build, dark T-shirt) pushed the victim to the ground. He took a backpack from the victim. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction.       

 

ARMED ROBBERY/ARREST 

            -On 05-22-04, a 16-year-old Germantown male juvenile was arrested and charged with robbery with a dangerous and deadly weapon. The arrest was a result of an incident in the 11400 block of Bedford Ct. in Germantown where the defendant stole a bike from a victim at gunpoint (BB gun).

 

BURGLARY ARREST 

            -On 06-19-04, Jose Adolfo Pineda, age 22, and Jose Zabala-Batista, age 19, of the 8800 block of Lanier Dr. in Silver Spring were arrested and charged with 1st degree Burglary and Theft under $500. The arrests were a result of a burglary at an apartment in the 8800 block of Lanier Drive.

            -BROMBERG, ROSENTHAL, SIEGEL & GOODMAN, LLP, 401 N. Washington St. in Rockville, between 10:45 p.m. on 06-15-04 and 7:40 a.m. on 06-16-04. Removed office door, computers taken.

 

3RD DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -DOMINOS PIZZA, 12854 New Hampshire Ave. in Silver Spring, at 3:43 a.m. on 06-22-04. Broke though front door, nothing taken.

            -PHIS DISCOUNT FABRICS, 618 E. University Blvd. in Silver Spring, between 6:00 p.m. on 06-13-04 and 10:40 a.m. on 06-14-04. Cut though rear wall cash taken.

            -MILLENNIUM TRAVEL & TOURS, 632 University Blvd. E. in Silver Spring, between 4:10 a.m. and 4:14 a.m. on 06-19-04. Broke out side window, nothing taken.

            -DRY CLEAN DIRECT, 9315 Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring, at 4:45 a.m. on 06-19-04. Broke out side window, nothing taken.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -13800 block of Castle Blvd. in Silver Spring, between 9:00 p.m. on 06-16-04 and 6:00 p.m. on 06-17-04. Broke though front door, DVD player taken.

            -8800 block of Piney Branch Rd. in Silver Spring, between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on 06-17-04. Unblocked front door, jewelry taken.

            -Unit block of Eastmoor Dr. in Silver Spring, between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on 06-18-04. Broke through kitchen door, nothing taken.

            -600 block of Eldrid Dr. in Silver Spring, between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on 06-19-04. Unlocked rear door, nothing taken.

            -13900 block of Castle Blvd. in Silver Spring, between 1:00 p.m. on 06-21-04 and 12:10 a.m. on 06-22-04. Front door entry, computer taken.

            -700 block of Lowander Lane in Silver Spring, at 4:30 p.m. on 06-19-04. Broke through sliding glass door, BB gun taken.

 

4TH DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -ZALCO REALTY, 10800 Georgia Ave. in Wheaton, between 4:00 p.m. on 06-17-04 and 10:15 a.m. on 06-18-04. Broke lock on front window, nothing taken.

            -BEL PRE BEER AND WINE, 2251 Bel Pre Rd. in Silver Spring, between 11:00 p.m. on 06-19-04 and 11:04 a.m. on 06-20-04. Broke out side window, cash box taken.

            -ROBERT B. KASS, D.D.S., P.A. GENERAL DENTISTRY, 4110 Aspen Hill Rd. in Rockville, between 6:30 p.m. on 06-18-04 and 10:00 a.m. on 06-19-04. Kicked open doors, camera and DVD player taken.
