RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

July 11, 2005

 

RAPE 

            -On 06-19-05, a 23-year-old Gaithersburg woman reported that she was assaulted and raped by her common law husband on 06-04-05 at their residence in Gaithersburg.  The investigation is continuing.  

 

PEEPING TOM 

            -On 06-26-05, at 9:50 p.m., a 53-year-old male from Montgomery Village observed an unknown race male looking into his neighbor’s residence in the 9300 block of Willow Creek Drive in Montgomery Village.  The suspect was wearing green shorts, blue t-shirt, white tennis shoes and a white baseball hat.

 

SEX ASSAULT 

            -On 07-03-05, from 1:00 a.m. to 4:35 a.m., a 19-year-old South Carolina woman reported that she had been sexually assaulted by unknown males at a party at an unknown location in Germantown.  The investigation is continuing.

 

ARMED ROBBERY 

      -On 07-02-05, at 11:52 p.m., a 49-year-old Takoma Park man was delivering food in the 7700 block of Mt. Pisgah Road in Silver Spring.  Victim entered the lobby and the suspect approached the victim and displayed a gun.  Suspect took money and a cell phone.  The suspect fled on foot towards the Capital Beltway.  The suspect is described as a B/M, 23-25, 5’7”-5’8”, wearing blue jeans, a blue shirt, and a black skullcap. 

            -On 07-05-05, at 9:45 a.m., a 43-year-old Silver Spring woman was in the 12300 block of Herrington Manor Dr. in Silver Spring when she was approached by a suspect with a gun. He demanded her purse and she complied.   At 10:20 a.m., a 44-year-old female from Hyattsville was in the 11500 block of Lockwood Drive in Silver Spring when she was approached by the suspect who displayed a gun and demanded her money.   The suspect fled on foot.  At 10:25 p.m. a 37-year-old female from Silver Spring was at a bus stop in the 11200 block of Oakleaf Drive in Silver Spring when she was approached from behind.  The suspect displayed a gun and demanded the victim’s purse.   The suspect ran to his car, a black or dark blue “boxy” shaped 4-door sedan.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 20s, 5’8”, 140 lbs., short black hair, slim build, wearing a white t-shirt, black jeans. 

            -On 07-06-05, at 3:28 p.m., two juvenile males from Burtonsville, ages 11 and 13 were walking on Outlet Dr. in Silver Spring when they were approached by 4 male suspects and 1 female suspect. They demanded money and female displayed a pocketknife. The victim’s ran, and were chased by the suspects.  The suspects are 4 B/M and a B/F, all between the ages of 15 and 17. 

            -On 07-04-05, at 1:49 a.m., a 28-year-old Rockville male, a 27-year-old Germantown male, and a 25-year-old Gaithersburg man were on a patio in the 13700 block of Creole Court in Germantown.  Two suspects covered their faces with white t-shirts and approached the victims.  Suspect #1 displayed a gun and demanded the victim’s wallets.  After obtaining the wallets, the suspects were last seen running in the direction of Hopkins Road towards Kingsview Road.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 18-19, 6’0” 160 lbs., brown eyes,  short black hair, wearing jeans and a white t-shirt.
            -Suspect #2 – B/M, 18-19, 5’10”, 160 lbs., brown eyes, short black hair, wearing grey baggy sweatpants, white t-shirt, and a black watch with gold trim.

 

STRONG ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 07-05-05, at 6:00 p.m., a 24-year-old Washington, D.C. man was in a public bathroom at the City Place Mall in Silver Spring, when a black male entered the bathroom.  The suspect approached and struck the victim. The Suspect removed cash from the victim’s pocket and then fled in an unknown direction.  The victim was not injured.  The suspect’s identity is known and the investigation is continuing.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT/ARMED ROBBERY/KIDNAPPING 

            -On 07-01-05 at 8:00 a.m. a 27-year-old male from Burtonsville, had just finished using an ATM at the White Oak Shopping Center.  Suspects #1 and #2 approached the victim.  Suspect #1 displayed a gun and forced the victim into a white Nissan Pathfinder with Washington, D.C. registration.  The victim was taken to an unknown apartment near Lockwood Drive in Silver Spring.  The victim stated he was held there until 10:00 a.m. on 07-03-05.  During that time the victim was held against his will and was beaten and cut numerous times by the suspects.  While being held the suspects drained his bank account using his ATM card. The victim was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 30-35, 6’0”-6’3”, 300-320 lbs., brown eyes, black hair with cornrows, medium skin.
            -Suspect #2 – B/M, 25-30, 5’11”-6’0”, 160-170 lbs., brown eyes, short hair, medium skin.
            -Suspect #3 – B/M, 25-30, 5’7”-5’8”, 160-170 lbs., brown eyes, short black hair, dark skin.

 

ARMED ROBBERY ARREST 

            -On 07-06-05, John Alpha Williams, age 19, of the 800 block of Quince Orchard Blvd. in Gaithersburg and a 17-year-old male juvenile from Montgomery Village were arrested and charged with First Degree Assault, Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, and Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Assault. The arrests were a result of an incident that occurred in the 300 block of Summit Ave. in Gaithersburg.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ARREST 

            -On 07-04-05, Antoumana N. Diallo, 49, of Silver Spring was arrested and charged with First Degree and Second Degree Assault.  The arrest was a result of a domestic incident. 

            -On 07-05-05, Barbara Whitener, 21, of Gaithersburg was arrested and charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Possession of CDS – Marijuana/Paraphernalia.  The arrest was the result of a domestic incident in Gaithersburg.

 

BURGLARY ARREST 

            -On 07-05-05, Salvador Martinez, 24, of the 300 block of North Summit Avenue in Gaithersburg, was arrested and charged with Third Degree Burglary and Malicious Destruction of Property.  The arrest was the result of an incident that had just occurred in 8500 block of Dakota Street in Gaithersburg. 

            -On 07-04-05, Brandon Theodore Adams, 34, of the 4500 block of Chestnut Street in Bethesda, was arrested and charged with First Degree Burglary and Trespassing.  The arrest was the result of incident in the 4500 block of Chestnut Street. 

            -On 07-06-05, Jayson B. Rossey, 48, of no fixed address was arrested and charged with Third and Fourth Degree Burglary, Trespassing, Failure to Obey a Lawful Order and Obstruction/Hindering.  The arrest was the result of an incident in the 500 block of Dale Drive in Silver Spring.

 

BURGLARY 

1st DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL 

            -1111 Deborah Drive in Potomac, between 10:00 p.m. on 07-05-05 and 8:00 a.m. on 07-06-05.  Used garage remote, nothing taken.

 

3rd DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL 

            -NATIONAL LABOR COLLEGE – GEORGE MEANY CAMPUS, 10000 New Hampshire Ave. in the White Oak are of Silver Spring, between 9:30 a.m. on 07-03-05 and 7:10 a.m. on 07-05-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -WINCHESTER HOMES, 15312 Lions Den Drive in Burtonsville, between 5:20 p.m. on 06-27-05 and 2:30 p.m. on 06-28-05.  No force, property taken. 

RESIDENTIAL 

            -14400 block of Hollyhock Way in Burtonsville, between 12:00 p.m. on 06-27-05 and 5:00 p.m. on 06-30-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

 

6th DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL 

            -BEST FRIENDS PET RESORT, 395 Muddy Branch Road in Gaithersburg, between 4:00 p.m. on 07-01-05 and 2:00 p.m. on 07-03-05.  Attempt only. 

RESIDENTIAL 

            -300 block of Hart Mews in Gaithersburg, on 07-05-05 at 2:00 a.m.  Forced entry, nothing taken.

            -18300 block of Lost Knife Circle in Gaithersburg, between 4:115 a.m. and 4:23 a.m. on 07-05-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken.

            -400 block of Sunnybrook Terrace in Gaithersburg, between 1:00 p.m. on 06-20-05 and 10:00 a.m. on 07-01-05.  Attempt only.
