ARMED ROBBERY

            -On 07-01-04, at 12:59 a.m., 2 victims, both males, ages 20 and 18, were hanging out at the rear of the 11400 block of Applegrath Way in Germantown when they were approached by 3 suspects. They demanded money and Suspect #2 hit the 18-year-old male in the face because he had no money. Suspect #1 pointed a handgun at the other male victim. That victim turned over some cash to the suspect. The suspects then fled in the direction of Scenery Drive.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 18-23, 6’0”, 150 lbs., red bandana, black basketball shirt, jean shorts.
            -Suspect #2 – B/M, 18-23, 5’8”, 150 lbs., white tank top, white hoodie with eye slits.
            -Suspect #3 – B/M, 18-23, 5’8”, 150 lbs., white tank top, jean shorts.

 

ARMED ROBBERY/ARREST 

            -On 07-03-04, Eric Tronia Johnson, age 29, of Suitland, Md. was arrested and charged with Theft Under, Robbery, 1st and 2nd Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Possession of a Handgun, Use of a handgun during the commission of a felony, and Possession of a Deadly Weapon. The arrest was a result of an armed robbery of a citizen in the 14200 block of Weeping Willow Dr. in Silver Spring.  *** Previous release written on this incident *** 

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 07-02-04, at 11:58 p.m., a 35-year-old Wheaton woman was walking on Georgia Ave near Georgian Wood Place in Wheaton when a suspect approached and knocked her down and grabbed her purse. The suspect was described as a black male, 25, 6’0”, slim, dark pants, and unknown shirt.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 07-03-04, at approximately 12:10 a.m., a 36-year-old Rockville man was outside a billiards parlor in the 2600 block of W. University Blvd. in Wheaton when he was assaulted by 4 suspects. The suspects (described only as Hispanic/M, 20-30, 5’8”-6’0”) were kicking the victim in the face and head. All 4 suspects got into a vehicle that was parked across the street on University Blvd. which then head towards Wheaton Plaza. The vehicle was described as a red 1994 Ford with Md. tags.

            -On 07-08-04, at 1:00 a.m., a 20-year-old Gaithersburg man was stabbed in the back by an unknown assailant in the area of Rexmore Dr. and Pinnacle Dr. in Germantown. The victim was driven to the local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

 

SEX ASSAULT/RAPE

            -On 07-05-04, at 3:12 p.m., a 33-year-old Derwood woman reported that her boyfriend of one month, raped her in her home. The suspect is known and the investigation is continuing.

 

INDECENT EXPOSURE

            -On 06-30-04, at 8:04 p.m., a 30-year-old female and a 28-year-old female were walking in the 2300 block of Blueridge Ave. in Wheaton when they heard a knock and turned to observe a suspect (no description available) exposing himself from an apartment window. The 2 women left the scene and contacted the police.

1ST DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -BRAUNSTEIN & CONNOR, CPA, 1 Research Court suite #120, Rockville, between 7:30 p.m. on 07-01-04 and 9:00 a.m. on 07-02-04. Broke through wall, pens and currency taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -10600 block of River Wood Drive, Potomac, between 11:00 a.m. and 1:07 p.m. on 07-05-04. Pried rear door, nothing taken.

            -9600 block of Traville Gateway Drive, Rockville, between 7:10 p.m. and 7:14 p.m. on 07-03-04. Climbed balcony, no entry, nothing taken.

            -10200 block of Yearling Drive, Potomac, between 7:45 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on 07-02-04. Pried rear window, jewelry and currency taken.

 

2nd DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -ACADEMY OF THE HOLY CROSS, 4920 Strathmore Ave. in Kensington, between 11:30 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. on 06-30-04. Rear door entry, cash taken.

            -UNIVERSITY GETTY SERVICE STATION, 3700 University Blvd. W. in Kensington, at 2:46 a.m. on 07-06-04. Broke out garage door, cash taken.

            -FIGURELLI – SACHS OFFICE BUILDING, 4915 St. Elmo Ave. in Bethesda, between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on 07-02-04. Pried molding on front door, nothing taken.

            -A VISTA EVENTS (WAREHOUSE), 8843 Monard Dr. in Silver Spring, between 4:30 p.m. on 07-02-04 and 6:00 a.m. on 07-03-04. Pried side-window, vehicle, computers, tools, sewing machine taken.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -5000 block of Battery Lane in Bethesda, between 5:30 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. on 07-03-04. Front door entry, computer taken.

            -6900 block of Winterberry Lane in Bethesda, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on 07-03-04. Pried rear window, jewelry, silverware, safe, candelabra taken.

            -7900 block of Chelton Rd. in Bethesda, between midnight on 06-25-04 and midnight on 07-04-04. Broke through rear window, jewelry taken.

            -10300 block of Summit Ave. in Kensington, between 7:15 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on 07-02-04. Pried side window screen, cash, jewelry, walkie-talkie taken. 

 

3rd District 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -PAINT BRANCH HIGH SCHOOL, 14121 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville, between 5:00 p.m. on 07-01-04 and 8:30 a.m. on 07-02-04. Cut locks on shed, nothing taken

-ECONOMIC & DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANTS, 8720 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, between 3:45 on 07-02-04 and 11:30 on 07-05-04. Broke door, nothing taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -200 block of Southampton Dr. in Silver Spring, between 10:30 p.m. on 07-04-04 and 7:30 a.m. on 07-05-04. Cut through rear window, jewelry, liquor taken.

            -100 block of E. Franklin Ave. in Silver Spring, between midnight on 06-20-04 and 9:00 p.m. on 07-01-04. Pried garage door, tools taken.

 

4th DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -CHECKERS HAIR DESIGN, 15418 New Hampshire Ave. in Silver Spring, between 11:00 p.m. on 07-03-04 and 11:00 a.m. on 07-04-04. Broke through front door, nothing taken.

            -THE FRENCH CONFECTION BAKERY, 816 Olney Sandy Spring Rd. in Sandy Spring, between 7:30 p.m. on 07-03-04 and 6:00 a.m. on 07-04-04. Broke through front door, cash taken.

            -SOLE D’ITALIA, 12 Sandy Spring Rd. in Ashton, between 12:30 a.m. and 3:15 a.m. on 07-04-04. Broke out glass on front door, no entry. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -3200 block of Hewitt Ave. in Silver Spring, between 12:50 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on 07-04-04. Unknown entry, snake taken. 

 

6th DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -GNC, 251 KENTLANDS BLVD. GAITHERSBURG, between 5:30 p.m. on 07-04-04 and 9:50 a.m. on 07-05-04. Pried rear door, currency and telephone taken.
