November 21, 2003 

 

ARMED ROBBERY  

            -On 11-15-03, at 9:45 p.m., the Kid Zone, located at White Flint Mall in Rockville, was robbed. A lone suspect (B/M, 25-30, 5’8”-5’10”, 165-175 lbs., goatee, black baseball cap with Nike Swoosh) waited until 45 minutes after closing and entered the one remaining gate that had not been locked. He confronted the assistant manager with a gun and demanded money. The victim complied and placed cash into a bucket. The suspect then took his keys. The suspect fled in an unknown direction. 

            -On 11-14-03, at 7:44 p.m., a Gaithersburg man was in the 200 block of Neil Dr. in Gaithersburg when he was approached by two suspects.  Suspect #1 (B/M, 25-28, 6’1”, black pants, black hooded shirt) knocked the victim down and placed an unknown object to his head. They took cash, cell phone, and a jacket from the victim. They fled in a Ford LTD, possibly burgundy in color. Suspect #2 was described as a black male, 25-30, 5’11”-6’0”, 210 lbs., bald, light skin, and navy blue coat with tan pants.

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 11-16-03, at 7:27 p.m., a 33-year-old Gaithersburg man was walking in the unit block of Teachers Way in Gaithersburg when he was approached by 2 suspects. The suspects (B/M, 20s, 5’11”, medium build, baggy pants, dark coat, hoody) demanded money and the victim ran away. The suspects caught him and wrestled him to the ground and took clothing and CDs. The suspects then fled towards the front of the Gaithersburg Intermediate School in the area of Girard St. and Fall Brook Street. 

            -On 11-09-03, at 2:00 a.m., a 25-year-old Arlington man was at a bar in Washington and became intoxicated. He accepted a ride from a white female (no further description) who took him to Gaithersburg. There, they picked up Suspect #1 (W/M, 23, 5’7”, 150 lbs., shaved head). The suspects demanded money for the ride and the victim said he had none. They drove to an ATM machine but the victim had no card. Suspect #3 (Hispanic/M, 23-24, 5’8”, 150 lbs., long hair) showed up in a beat-up Ford pick-up truck. They beat the victim and took his phone. The original vehicle, driven by the female, was a Toyota 4 runner, SUV, and light in color. 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 11-14-03, at 1:45 p.m., The Gap store at Montgomery Mall was the scene of an attempt-theft of clothing. A store employee observed a Hispanic male suspect loading sweaters into a bag held by another male suspect. When the clerk yelled, the suspects dropped the bag and fled the store with a female suspect, who had been standing guard. The victim chased them to the parking lot and the suspects attempted to hit her with their blue van, with NY tags.

1ST DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -BRITE DENTAL CARE, 5515 Randolph Rd. in Rockville, between 2:00 p.m. on 11-10-03 and 5:10 p.m. on 11-11-03. Broke through front door, unknown amount taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -11300 block of Schuykill Rd. in Rockville, between 1:45 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on 11-14-03. Broke through basement door, cash, jewelry taken.

            -13800 block of Mustang Hill Lane in N. Potomac, between midnight and 6:00 a.m. on 11-15-03. Pried open front window, nothing taken. 

2ND DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -WASHINGTON RADIOLOGY ASSOC., 4445 Willard Ave. in Chevy Chase, between 7:40 p.m. on 11-12-03 and 7:10 a.m. on 11-13-03. Pried open side window, TV taken.

            -AFTER HOURS FORMAL WEAR, Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, between 4:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. on 11-16-03. Lifted gate of front door, unknown amount taken.

            -CATCH CAN, 10505 Metropolitan Ave. in Kensington, between 3:30 a.m. and 3:34 a.m. on 11-17-03. Broke through front door, nothing taken. 

3RD DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -QUALITY CLEANERS, 2848 New Hampshire Ave. in Silver Spring, between 10:00 p.m. on 11-12-03 and 7:00 a.m. on 11-13-03. Pried front door, coins taken.

            -SPICY AMERICA, 11409 Lockwood Dr. in Silver Spring, at 4:50 a.m. on 11-18-03. Broke out front door, cash and cash register taken.

            -THE GUN RACK LTD., 15420 Old Columbia Pike in Burtonsville, between 2:02 a.m. and 2:07 a.m. on 11-18-03. Broke through front door, handgun and rifles taken.

            -SYNDICATED RESEARCH GROUP, 1738 Elton Rd. in Silver Spring, between 6:45 p.m. on 11-13-03 and 9:00 a.m. on 11-14-03. Unknown entry, computers taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -11300 block of Columbia Pike in Silver Spring, between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on 11-16-03. Front door entry, money and jewelry taken.

            -600 block of Lowander Lane in Silver Spring, between 10:30 p.m. on 11-14-03 and 3:00 a.m. on 11-15-03. Opened sliding glass door, computer taken.

            -8668 Piney Branch Rd. in Silver Spring, between 8:40 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. on 11-14-03. Pried molding on window, various game systems taken.

            -1500 block of Heather Hollow Circle, between 6:30 p.m. on 11-12-03 and 6:30 p.m. on 11-14-03. Pried frame on rear window, nothing taken.
