DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The purpose of the
Gang Coordinator is to develop an in-depth knowledge of gangs and its
members; understand the inner workings of their organizations, with a
focus on criminal activities, i.e. (drugs, auto theft, assault and
battery, etc.); and develop knowledge of suspects and incidents
involving confirmed and suspected gang members and gang related
crimes. With an understanding of community policing objectives
and goals, patrol activities are performed in the district to identify
those areas infested with gang activities and its members. Along
with the assistance of the community, we can identify, contact, and
communicate with the gang members to gain control of the criminal
presence in that community. |
