DATA SYSTEMS SECTION (DSS)

REPORT REVIEW UNIT

The Report Review Unit is responsible for reviewing and coding police reports to ensure adherence to departmental regulations and codes and UCR information for data entry.  The system enables the Department to meet all internal reporting requirements, plus the Department's obligation to Federal and State agencies regarding crime statistics. 

DATA ENTRY UNIT

The Data Entry Unit is responsible for the entry and updating of all information entered into our database.  This database maintains information obtained during arrests, traffic stops, accidents, and other occurrences requiring the officer to write a report.

ARREST QUALITY CONTROL UNIT

The Arrest Quality Control Unit is responsible for maintaining the criminal history of defendants arrested in Montgomery County.  All information sent from the Central Processing Unit is verified by this unit to confirm accuracy of MCP ID numbers and that the court case docket numbers match the right person being charged of the crime.

EXPUNGEMENT UNIT

The Expungement Unit is responsible for purging all information that is on file pertaining to a court case in Montgomery County where the defendant was arrested by the Montgomery County Police Department or other police agencies in Montgomery County.  The court order requires the removal of records, photos, and fingerprint cards that we obtained the day the defendant was arrested for the case the court has approved to be expunged.
