RECORDS MANAGEMENT SECTION (RMS)

The Records Management Section provides customer service internally and externally by providing information and support services.  These functions include requests for reports and criminal records checks, processing of arrests, liaison with the Central Processing Unit, and monthly validation queries as required by the Maryland Central Records.

The Message Routing Center (MRC), which is a subset of RMS, provides service to this Department, the Division of Revenue, Parking Division, Animal Services, and all other law enforcement agencies.  All administrative and informal teletype and e-mail messages are negotiated through MRC.  Prompt correspondence is made here between our Department and any jurisdictions requesting confirmation of MCP entries for stolen vehicles/tags, stolen articles, and missing/wanted persons.
