How much does EBBE cost?
There is no cost to participate in EBBE. This program aims to level the playing field by bringing high-quality after-school activities to students and their families for no fee. As a creative alternative to a financial commitment, parents of participants are required to invest two hours per month in their school community.
Who can participate in EBBE?
Students who attend EBBE can participate. At EBBE, we understand that high-quality after-school activities are important for all young people, but we only have room for 120 students at this time. Since space is limited, registration opens first to students who need a little academic boost. If you attend a participating school and did not get into the program on your first try, we highly encourage you to reach out to your school and get your name on the waiting list.
How did this program get started?
In 2016, after learning more about how Montgomery County students spend their out-of-school time, community members rallied to create Child First. Child First is a parent-organizing movement with the goal of bringing innovative after-school programs into our ever-changing local communities. This program is the result of transforming community dreams into action.
