"The Longwood Community Center first opened its doors in the spring of 1978. Longwood Community Center is located in the northeast section, Brookeville/Olney area, of Montgomery County. The Center provides a variety of recreational activities for all ages. We offer various indoor programs such as: open gym activities, arts and crafts, exercise/leisure classes, senior citizen activities, area and county-wide sports programs, family special events, after school programs, summer camps, programs for individuals with disabilities, volunteer opportunities and much, much more! Our indoor facilities consist of a gymnasium, exercise room, meeting room, art room, lobby area, lounge and social hall. The outdoor facilities include multiple soccer/baseball fields, tennis and basketball courts and a small child's play area, all of which are maintained by the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission.

The gymnasium is used for a variety of organized leagues, competitions, instructional programs, and is routinely scheduled for a variety of drop-in activities. The exercise room is equipped with self-administered exercise and aerobic equipment. We offer 3 month, 6 month and annual memberships. A new service is now available to seniors 55+! you may register to use the Community Center's exercise room free of charge from 9:00am - 2:00pm Monday - Thursday. 

Our social hall, which can accommodate up to 175 participants, provides space for a variety of social and dance activities. This space is available for private parties with rental fees determined on the type and duration of the event. A full service kitchen is adjacent to the social hall for your use. For smaller meetings of groups with 25 or fewer, we have a meeting room available.

If you feel creative, an art room equipped with child sized art tables. Looking for a game, you'll find opportunities for table tennis and billiards available in the lobby area.

Where ever your interest lie, sports, fitness, dance, music, art or the opportunity to join together with friends and neighbors for a special celebration or social gathering, Longwood Community Center has something to offer you. For our older residents, we offer Longwood Seniors.
