The Ross Boddy Community Center is located on Brooke Road in Sandy Spring. We offer a variety of activities, classes, and programs for people of all ages, with many activities designed especially for youth and for seniors.
Ross Boddy indoor facilities were completely renovated in 2000. Members of the community are invited to indulge their artistic talents in our pottery room, our ceramics room, our art room and our photography lab. Those who are seeking a more athletic experience are invited to use our exercise/weight room for self-directed exercise or to check out the gymnasium, which is used for sports classes and is available to the members during Open Gym hours. Our computer lab features color printers, and is available for computer classes and for those who wish to polish their computer skills. We also have a game room open for community members to test their skills at pool and other table games.
Our gymnasium is also used as an all-purpose room, and provides space for a variety of social and dance activities. It comes complete with a stage and an adjacent full-service kitchen, and can be rented for private parties and meetings with rental fees based on the type and duration of the event. A dining room is available. A lounge is also available.
The outdoor facilities, include a baseball field, two sand volleyball courts, a tennis court, a putting green, and full length outdoor basketball courts. Our grounds are a wonderful place to rent for family picnics or other outdoor events.
Our Center hosts a variety of special events for the community throughout the year, including a Black History Month celebration every February and an annual Juneteenth celebration. We also offer programs for seniors through Ross Boddy Seniors.
