Recreation Advisory Board
This Board advises the County Executive, County Council, the Department of Recreation and the Planning Board on county recreation and park needs. The Board encourages the development of desirable parks and recreational opportunities, and advises and makes recommendations to appropriate officials on matters concerning budgets, recreation programs, services, and facilities.
Members serve three year terms without compensation. The Board is composed of fifteen members, seven non-voting ex-officio members, four alternates, and one representative from each of the four Regional Recreation Advisory Boards. Alternates serve in place of an absent member and assume a regular member's position if there is a resignation. In addition, members serve on subcommittees that meet as needed.
