The Department of Recreation has established four regional service areas, which follow the Government Service Center Regions. A Recreation Program Manager administers a group of Community Recreation Centers and Neighborhood Recreation Centers in each region and has focused responsibilities for customer service, problem solving, public/private partnerships, intergovernmental coordination, and community planning and program improvements in that region. An appointed Advisory Board, composed of community residents meets regularly with the Manager and staff to make recommendations related to Department of Recrreation and Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission facilities, programs and policies. Registration for is available at Community Recreation Centers and some Neighborhood Recreation Centers.
