VINE, Victim Information and Notification Everyday, is an invaluable tool for victims of crime to gain easy access to important custody and court information. VINE operates as an automated telephone service available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

VINE will provide you with vital court case and custody status information for an offender currently involved in the criminal justice system in Maryland.  If you choose, you may register to receive telephone notification for certain court case and custody status events.  The Maryland VINE service is available in both English and Spanish.

How Do I Use VINE?

Who Should Use VINE?

Victims may call the VINE line in order to:

What do I need to do?

  1. Call the Maryland VINE line toll free at 1.866.MD4VINE (1.866.634.8463) from a touch tone telephone and follow the prompts.
  2. If your offender is currently involved in an active court case or in custody at a correctional facility, you may enter a telephone number where you would like to be notified should his or her status change. You may register up to two different telephone numbers with VINE. VINE appears on "caller i.d." as unknown, therefore if you have been unknown calls blocked, VINE will be unable to notify you.
  3. You will need to select a four-digit Personal Identification Number, or PIN, that will be used to confirm any telephone notification received from VINE. It is important that you select a number that is easy for you to remember.
  4. When you receive a notification from VINE, listen to the complete message and then enter your PIN. Entering your PIN lets VINE know that you successfully received the notification and stops the system from calling you further for notification of that particular event.
