Thursday, November 26, 2009: Thanksgiving Day - No County-provided recycling or trash collections on November 26; Thursday and Friday collections that week shift by one day. Transfer Station closes at 5 p.m. on November 25; closed November 26.
Effective September 21, 2009, our recycling program expanded to accept additional blue bin and mixed paper items!
The information on this page applies only to recycling and trash collections provided by Montgomery County. If your collection contract is directly between you and a hauling company, or is arranged by your homeowners' association or municipality, please contact the company, association, or municipality directly.
Who provides your collection service?
County-provided recycling collections for blue bin recyclables, yard trimmings, and mixed paper are made by different trucks. These trucks typically have different schedules. For example, even though your blue bin was emptied at 7:15 a.m., the yard trimmings truck may not arrive until 2:00 p.m., possibly giving the appearance throughout the morning that the leaves and grass were left behind.
The recycling and trash trucks may make collections until 9:00 p.m. Call 240-777-6410 the next morning to report a missed collection. Missed collections must be reported no later than 5 p.m. two business days after your collection day. In the meantime, do not remove your items from the curb.
Email is a great communication tool, but for missed collection issues, we are best able to address your situation after a brief telephone conversation with you to make sure that we have all of the address information and other details we might need to respond as quickly as possible.
