Our "classroom" (with one exception) for "Behind the Scenes" is the Recycling Center Tour Room:

• Driving directions to Recycling Center

• Please use the "Car Entrance" on Route 355/Frederick Rd.
• Follow the driveway straight into the facility complex.
• The Recycling Center is the first building on the right.

Resource Recovery Facility

Please arrive by 10:00 a.m. The RRF is located at:
21204 Martinsburg Road
Dickerson, MD 20842

For your reference, the Resource Recovery Facility is located about 20 miles from the Shady Grove Transfer Station.

• Driving directions from Transfer Station to Resource Recovery Facility

• Take Route 28 west.
• About one mile past the traffic light in Beallsville, Route 28 curves sharply where it intersects with Martinsburg Road. Turn left on to Martinsburg Road.
  • There is a traffic light at the Route 29/Martinsburg Road intersection. You'll see a sign reading "Resource Recovery Facility" at this intersection, too.
• Once on Martinsburg Road, the RRF entrance will be on the right.
• Follow the signs to the RRF; the Mirant power plant is on the same entrance road, and you'll pass it along your way.
• Once you have parked, enter through the main building entrance and come into the conference room
