Recycling Center

Have items to recycle? Bring them to the Public Unloading Area of the Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station (hours, map, details), located in the same complex as the Recycling Center. We do not accept recyclables from the public directly at the Recycling Center.

The Recycling Center sits on approximately nine acres of land on Route 355, just south of Shady Grove Road. The facility is near the County's Solid Waste Transfer Station.

Since its inception in 1991, thousands of school children and other visitors have toured the Recycling Center and received a first-hand look at how recyclables are processed and learned about the benefits of recycling.

More than numbers, however, it is the spirit of service and constant improvement at the Recycling Center that make the facility such an important part of the community.
