Resource Recovery Facility

Waste is transported to the Resource Recovery Facility, burned at extremely high temperatures, and the heat is used to generate energy in the form of electricity or steam. Metal is then recovered from the ash and recycled.

The Resource Recovery Facility received the Solid Waste Association of North America's 2005 Gold Excellence Award in the Waste-to-Energy Division.
