Gunners Branch Stream Restoration

As part of the County's effort to improve conditions in all our streams, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is planning a stream restoration project along approximately 8,000 linear feet of the Gunners Branch and a tributary that lies to the west of Gunners Branch. The two stream restoration reaches begin at Middlebrook Road and extend downstream to Gunners Lake.

These two segments of stream were identified for restoration in the Great Seneca Creek Watershed Study and will help reduce sediment input to Gunners Lake by stabilizing stream banks. DEP is also conducting a dredging operation to remove accumulated sediments from Gunners Lake.

Various public events will be held throughout the project for residents to learn about the project and to provide input on the design of the project.
