MD 355 Central Corridor Advisory Committee
(Between Rockville Metro Station and the Beltway/I-495)

MD 355 Central is a suburban corridor planned for a high level of development that will support all-day travel. It is characterized by shorter trips (than in the MD 355 North corridor) representing a wide variety of travel purposes (shopping and recreation, in addition to commuting).

The corridor has several planned or existing activity centers, including

  • Rockville,
  • Twinbrook,
  • White Flint.

It is also characterized by very heavy congestion and high transit ridership potential.

For more information on this corridor, see the MD 355 BRT Project Page and the  Countywide Transit Corridors Functional Master Plan.
