Child Dental Programs

County Programs

Care for Kids

An individual may qualify for this program if they meet the following criteria:
  • Montgomery County Resident
  • Ages newborn through the end of their 18-birth year
  • Child must be uninsured and not eligible for MCHP or MCHP Premium
  • Family income no greater than 250% of the Federal Poverty Level
  • Apply at the Montgomery County Office of Eligibility Support and Services
  • Available Now: You can apply for Senior Dental and Care for Kids benefits online starting Jan 1st, 2025 using our new Community Connect Portal. This offers a convenient way to apply for and manage your County Health Programs benefits. Create an account to begin.
Documents needed at appointment to verify parentage or legal guardianship:
  • Driver’s license
  • Passport
  • Or other legal form of picture identification
Documents needed at initial appointment to verify the identity of the minor:
  • Active Care for Kids Card or letter of active Care for Kids eligibility issued by the Office of Eligibility Support Services 
AND
  • Active Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) identification card
  • Current MCPS verification of enrollment form
  • Birth Certificate
  • Passport
  • Physician’s certificate
  • Baptismal or church certification
  • Hospital certificate
  • Parent’s notarized affidavit (sworn notarized statement attesting to the accuracy of the date of birth)
  • Birth registration
  • Other legal or notarized identification e.g Casa ID

School-Based Dental Services

The county dental program has partnered with Montgomery County Public Schools to provide dental services for students at select schools throughout the county. The dental services are provided on school premises during normal school hours.

Dental services include but are not limited to:
  • Screenings/exams
  • Cleanings
  • Fluoride treatments
  • Sealants
