Services We Offer

Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Dental Program offers the following services:

  • Dental exams
  • Diagnostic x-rays
  • Cleanings
  • Fillings
  • Extractions
  • Sealants
  • Fluoride treatments
  • Related dental services
  • Referrals

Eligibility

  • Montgomery County Resident
  • Family income no greater than 250% of federal poverty guidelines
  • Uninsured or have no dental insurance
  • Children must be enrolled in the Care for Kids program before seeking dental treatment OR
  • Montgomery County residents eligible for the Maryland Healthy Smiles Adult Medicaid program (Adults over the age of 21 and pregnant women)

How to Apply

If you are a child, pregnant woman, senior:
 
  • Available Now: You can apply for Senior Dental and Care for Kids benefits online starting Jan 1st, 2025 using our new Community Connect Portal. This offers a convenient way to apply for and manage your County Health Programs benefits.  Create an account to begin.

  • Fax your application to:

    • By mail to any OESS office location
    • Visit the office location near you where OESS drop boxes are available
If you are an adult between the ages of 19 to 59:
Apply by completing the fillable application found on the Application Forms page. Once the application is completed, print or download to your computer and email along with copies of the required documents to [email protected], by U.S. mail, or in person at one of the dental clinic locations.

If you are enrolled in the Montgomery Cares Program:
This is a group of community-based health care providers that provide medical care and access to oral health care to uninsured adults in Montgomery County. Eligibility for the program is determined at one of the participating health centers where staff can assist with eligibility determination.  The Montgomery Cares clinics will provide the county dental program information needed for the sliding fee scale discount program and your eligibility status.

If you or your child are already enrolled in the Care for Kids, Adult Dental, Senior Dental or Medicaid/Maryland Healthy Smiles Dental Program (MHSDP), call the County dental clinic closest to your home to schedule an appointment for a dental check-up or other services.
