A tanning facility is any place where a tanning device is used for a fee, membership dues,or any other compensation.

Who and when must one apply for a tanning permit?
Any person who wants to operate a tanning facility in Montgomery County must obtain a license. A l icense must be obtained before operating a tanning facility.
How does one obtain a tanning facility license? Is there a fee?

What is the process for applying for a Tanning Facility license?
- Apply online or download and complete the Application: Tanning Facility application (PDF)
- The application and the appropriate fee must be submitted.
- Incomplete applications will be returned to the applicant.
- The permit will be mailed to the applicant.
An inspection must be passed prior to the tanning facility license being issued.

3. Approval
If approved you will hear back us within 10 - 14 business days. The final part of the process will be to find the inspector specific to your area.
