The Montgomery County Police Department, in partnership with Montgomery College, is now offering paid positions in the Montgomery County Police Cadet Program.

The application process for the Cadet Program is open from February 4, 2019, through March 4, 2019.


Purpose of the Cadet Program:
The Cadet Program has been established to provide qualified individuals, who are interested in becoming a Police Officer with the Montgomery County Department of Police, first-hand experience in law enforcement.
Program Requirements:
Must be 18 years old
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Equivalent
Valid Drivers License
US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Enrolled in College Curriculum Full Time with a Minimum 2.0 GPA

Traditional Cadet Program:

Cadets participating in the program will be required to maintain full-time enrollment with an accredited college or university and maintain a 2.0 GPA.  Cadets will be assigned to various units, districts, and Divisions for 20 hours per week.  Each Cadet will be assigned for a 90 day rotation in their respective Unit.  This will provide the Cadet with an opportunity to learn more about the Department and gain on-the-job training.  Cadets participating in the traditional Cadet program receive a hourly rate of  $15.81 per hour.
