Amanda Mihill, Legislative
Bill 9-12, Commission on Juvenile Justice - Membership
enact Bill 9-12.
Bill 9-12, Commission on Juvenile Justice - Membership, sponsored by the Council President at
the request of the County Executive was introduced on March 6, 2012. A public hearing was held
on March 27, in which a representative of the Executive testified in support of the bill (©9). A
Public Safety Committee worksession was held on April 17.
Bill 9-12 would add a representative of the Montgomery County Collaboration Council for
Children, Youth and Families, a quasi-public, nonprofit organization designated as the County's
Local Management Board, as a voting member of the Commission on Juvenile Justice. The
Executive has requested this legislation because the Collaboration Council provides ongoing
support to the Commission and plays an important role in both policy development and service
delivery to the youth of Montgomery County.
