Transit Overview

There is hardly anything more critical to Montgomery County’s economic future than having more reliable and accessible transit options. To that end, the County Executive has made an improved transit network a priority in his Six Point Economic Plan and why Montgomery County is actively advancing two transit networks: the Countywide Rapid Transit System (RTS) and the Corridor Cities Transitway (CCT). The RTS network is a 150-mile transit network that connects to other public transportation systems. The County has adopted a Countywide Transit Corridors Functional Master Plan that outlines the contours of an RTS network and is participating with the State in plans to build the Corridor Cities Transit Way as a part of our overall network that will run through the Great Seneca Science Corridor.
