MCPL Playbook for Recovery

Phase 1 of Libraries reopening to the public will involve opening 6 branch locations, selected for a combination of their physical size and regional distribution throughout Montgomery County.

These six libraries reopened to the public on June 1:

  • Connie Morella (Bethesda)
  • Gaithersburg
  • Marilyn Praisner (Burtonsville)
  • Olney
  • Rockville Memorial
  • Silver Spring

These 6 branches discontinued their Holds to Go service.

Branches opening on June 14th

  • Aspen Hill Library
  • Damascus Library
  • Davis Library
  • Little Falls Library
  • Long Branch Library
  • Potomac Library
  • Quince Orchard Library
  • Wheaton Library

These eight branches, as well as the six branches reopened to the public on June 1, will follow newly adjusted opening procedures which include no appointments, no capacity limits, and no social distance requirements.

These 8 branches discontinued their Holds to Go service.

Branches opening on July 6th

All remaining branches will reopen on July 6, with the exception of Germantown Library, which is closed for a refresh project. These branches are:

  • Chevy Chase Library
  • Kensington Park Library
  • Noyes Library for Young Children
  • Maggie Nightingale Library
  • Twinbrook Library
  • White Oak Library

These branches will discontinue their Holds to Go service.
