Members can meet one-on-one with the onsite Fidelity representative. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 240-777-8228, emailing [email protected] or online at the link below. You may also attend Forum/Educational sessions and review On-line Retirement Tutorials.

5 years from retirement – attend all-day seminar (presented quarterly).
- This seminar will provide you with information regarding your County retirement benefits, Social Security and Medicare, Deferred Compensation (457) Plans, Financial Planning, Estate Planning and County retiree health and life insurance.

6 months - 1 year from retirement – attend the Health Insurance Planning for Retirement seminars (1 hour, presented monthly).
- At this time, you should gather required documents which may include proof of age (e.g. birth certificates/passports), marriage certificates, Social Security cards.
- 2 months from retirement – attend the Health Insurance Applying for Retirement seminars. At this seminar, you will sign and submit your retiree health insurance paperwork and any required documentation.
Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) and County Deferred Compensation (Fidelity)
Members can meet one-on-one with a representative from the Cambridge Investment Research for a two-hour session to discuss retirement investment counseling.

Employees Retirement Plan (ERS)
Pre-retirement seminars are available to all employees. Most participants will attend 3-5 seminars prior to retirement.

- This seminar will provide you with information regarding your County retirement benefits, Social Security and Medicare, Deferred Compensation (457) Plans, Financial Planning, Estate Planning and County retiree health and life insurance.

6 months - 1 year from retirement – attend the ERS Planning for Retirement and Health Insurance Planning for Retirement seminars (2 1/2 hours, presented monthly).
- At this time, you should gather required documents which may include proof of age (e.g. birth certificates/passports), marriage certificates Social Security cards and any child support or Qualified Domestic Relations (divorce) orders.
- 2 months from retirement – attend the ERS Applying for Retirement and Health Insurance Applying for Retirement seminars. At the ERS seminar, you will sign and submit your retirement paperwork and any required documentation. Prior to this seminar, you will be provided with a benefit calculation and forms.
