SHAWN STOKES
Ms. Stokes, as Director of the Office of Human Resources, holds an Ex-Officio position on the Board.
As Director of the Office of Human Resources, Ms. Stokes has overall responsibility for the administration of human resources management for the 10,000 full/part-time employees of the County Government. Prior to joining Montgomery County Government in 2015, Ms. Stokes was employed by the District of Columbia government from April 2011 to January 2015 which included serving as principal advisor on all aspects of human resources management programs. She was the Chief Human Capital Officer in the Office of Human Capital for the Baltimore City Public Schools for two years. From 2005 to 2009, she was employed by the School District of Philadelphia where she served as Executive Director of Employee Entry, Senior Vice President of Human Resources and, finally as Chief of Staff and Deputy in the Office of Strategic Partnerships in the Office of the Superintendent for more than a year.
Ms. Stokes attended Delaware State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration. She received a Master of Science in Engineering from Connecticut State University.
