Meet Jordan:

Jordan has been with the department since March 2005. Jordan was the Recreation Coordinator at Upper County Community Recreation Center prior to joining the team at the Jane E. Lawton Community Recreation Center. He graduated from Wesley College with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management. Jordan has worked in Recreation for over 20 years having worked for the cities of Rockville and Gaithersburg as a facility manager, after-school director and as an independent contractor providing mentoring/psychiatric rehabilitation services.

Jordan is a resident of Montgomery County, was raised in Rockville and is a graduate of Rockville High School. He played football and basketball at Rockville and was named to the All Gazette First Team in both sports his senior year. He participated in youth sports through the Rockville Football League and has coached middle school basketball in the I-270 Youth Sports program. Jordan enjoys collecting and riding vintage steel road bikes, photography and spending time with family. Jordan currently resides in Aspen Hill.

Meet Sharon:

Sharon has been with the Department of Recreation for two years. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Journalism from Hampton University. Sharon is a lifetime member of AFTRA/SAG and is a published author with over 20 years of experience in media and broadcasting. She has previously worked as an on-air personality nationally and locally for CBS Radio WPGC, WHUR and Radio One’s WMMJ. A passionate community advocate, Sharon is the recipient of community service awards from former DC Mayor Marion Barry and former Prince George’s County Executive Jack Johnson.

A native Washingtonian, Sharon was raised in Montgomery County is a graduate of Paint Branch High School where she participated in track and field and held a Maryland state title on the school’s relay team. Sharon values family, travel, entertaining at home, and spending time with her three greatest achievements, her children Atiya, Maryam and Hassan.
