Meet Portia:
Portia has been a recreation professional for over 10 years. She has a bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Towson University. Her experience spans all ages and every part of the county providing programming for youth events, camps, sports and school partnerships.
Portia is a Montgomery County native and is an avid traveler and fitness enthusiast. She takes a holistic approach to community wellness and believes recreation is for everyone.

Meet Deanna
Deanna has been with the Department of Recreation for nine years. She has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Tuskegee University, and an associate’s degree in Early Elementary and Special Education from Montgomery College. Deanna has worked for the department in a number of different positions including summer camps and Club Friday. Deanna also worked for many years at Upper County Community Recreation Center as the director of the Summer Fun Center.
Deanna was raised in Montgomery County and is a graduate of Seneca Valley High School. She has coached boy’s and girl’s basketball through the department for over 15 years. Deanna enjoys being outdoors, attending sporting events with her family and volunteering. Deanna lives in Germantown with her husband and their children.
