Invitations were mailed and emailed to all volunteer participants in the program.

The Summit started promptly at 6:00pm on February 21st, 2013, at the Executive Office Building at 101 Monroe Street in Rockville. Art Holmes, MCDOT Director, gave opening remarks, followed by Tom Pogue, MCDOT Community Relations Manager.  The Summit gave each volunteer a chance to learn about County support for the Adopt A Road program, share their experiences, knowledge and concerns with other volunteers, and to pick up cleaning equipment.

Light dinner was served (assotrment of sandwiches, two types of pastas, soda, water and coffee, at tray of fruit and cookies).

arrow pointer Equipment Distribution Form was available for those groups interested in picking up their quarterly allotment.  Equipment included reflective vets, bags, pick sticks, honeycomb gloves and thick black rubber gloves (to use when handling sharp objects or in water situations). Over 300 pieces of equipment were passed out!
