The Mid-County Regional Services staff knowledge and expertise about the Mid-County area enables them to provide effective and timely liaison between Montgomery County Government and its residents and businesses. Staff work directly with residents, community groups, businesses, the Mid-County Citizens Advisory Board, the Wheaton Urban District Advisory Committee, the Wheaton Redevelopment Program and numerous public and private agencies to assess regional problems, to determine solutions that emphasize cooperative efforts, and to foster public-private partnerships to enhance the development of the Mid-County areas.

The Wheaton Urban District Team

The Wheaton Urban District Team membersThe Wheaton Urban District is funded by special taxes to support the work of the Committee. It provides special services to the Central Business District to ensure that downtown Wheaton is maintained in a clean, safe and attractive manner to promote a vibrant social and business environment and long-term economic viability and vitality. These services include security, streetscape maintenance, tree maintenance, sidewalk repairs, marketing, and events.

The Wheaton Redevelopment Team

The Wheaton Redevelopment Program, a program of the Department of General Services, facilitates and oversees downtown private investment and development, works with business establishments and property owners to expand the downtown business base, and administers business assistance and incentive programs, ie., enterprise zones, facade easements and green tae permit processing.
