Division of Central Services

The Division of Central Services is dedicated to providing quality services in support of the day-to-day operations of the Department of General Services. The Division of Central Services proactively supports all DGS Divisions, enabling them to complete their respective missions in an effective, economical and efficient manner. We take pride in the critical role we play in achieving the overall DGS goal of Delivering Great Service.
The Division of Central Services plans, administers, coordinates, and directs a variety of centralized services to support the mission of the Department of General Services. Central Services provides the following services to the Department:
Budget development and administration;
Financial management;
Human Resources;
Contracts coordination;
Information Technology;
ADA Compliance;
Printing and Mail Services;
Records Management;
Records Warehousing;
Publishing and Document Services
Included within the Division of Central Services is the management and operation of internal printing services, mail processing and delivery, records and archiving management, and shredding activities for the entire County. The Publishing and Document Services Section also manages the County-wide copier contract and the purchase and delivery of paper for County operations.
Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance
Montgomery County’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance Program is charged with ensuring that all of Montgomery County Government’s programs, services, buildings, and other facilities are accessible to people with disabilities and compliant with Title II of the ADA (which covers state and local government services). The Compliance Program provides information, technical assistance, and training on Title II issues to all County departments and responds to any Title II-related questions, complaints, and grievances from County
Automation Program
The Automation Program provides staffing, material, and technology solution to develop and maintain information systems in support of the Department’s business operations. This includes purchase and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) equipment, service and support for major end use systems on a County-wide basis. IT management of applications, databases, systems, and department website design and maintenance is included in this program as well as coordination with the Montgomery County Department of Technology Services.
