Head Start/PreK Registration for School Year 2025 - 2026

Registration for the 2025 - 2026 school year is underway. To be eligible for Head Start/PreK, children must be 4 years old by September 1st and their families must meet certain income requirements. Please call 240-740-4530 for more information or visit the Head Start/PreK website.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY BIRTH  TO FIVE HEAD START COMMUNITY BASED MODEL

 

MODELO COMUNITARIO DE HEAD START DESDE EL NACIMIENTO HASTA LOS CINCO AÑOS DEL CONDADO DE MONTGOMERY

The program will provide services throughout Montgomery County for a full-year (1,380 annual hours), full-day (9-hours) Early Head Start program and receive $17,964/child/annually. Registered family child care homes and licensed center-based programs with a minimum of Level 3 EXCELS are eligible to apply.
 
Childcare programs will collaborate as an Early Head Start childcare hub and receive wrap-around services for staff and families including training, technical assistance and coaching support from the County’s Early Childhood Services (ECS) program including Child Care Resource Center, the Infants and Toddlers Early Intervention Program and Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation and family engagement services and supports.
 
Early Head Start applications available November 1st - 15th. Programs must have attended one of the orientation sessions in October in order to be considered.

El programa brindará servicios en todo el Condado de Montgomery durante todo el año (1,380 horas anuales), un programa Early Head Start de jornada completa (9 horas) y recibirá $17,964 por niño/a al año. Los hogares de cuidado infantil familiar registrados y los programas basados en centros con licencia con un mínimo de Nivel 3 en EXCELS son elegibles para postularse.
 
Los programas de cuidado infantil colaborarán como un centro de cuidado infantil de Early Head Start y recibirán servicios integrales para el personal y las familias, incluyendo capacitación,  asistencia técnica y apoyo de entrenamiento por parte del programa de Servicios para la Primera Infancia (ECS) del Condado, incluido el Centro de Recursos para el Cuidado Infantil, el Programa de Intervención Temprana para Bebés y Niños Pequeños, Servicios de Consulta en Salud Mental para la Primera Infancia y servicios de apoyo de participación familiar.

Did you know that Head Start offers adult English classes for parents and guardians of children in the program?

In collaboration with the Literacy Council of Montgomery County, Head Start offers English classes to two cohorts each year: one in the fall and one in the spring.
