PRO is going paperless!
PRO is going paperless! Submit all responses to RFPs and IFBs on BidNet. This applies to all IFB and RFP solicitations posted on after July 4, 2022. Paper responses will no longer be accepted in the Office of Procurement. Solicitations will be issued through BidNet’s Maryland Purchasing Group: Click Here. In the spirit of continuous improvement, Montgomery County utilizes this platform to post solicitations and accept electronic responses from vendors. Click here for instructions on registering and creating a FREE ACCOUNT. Note: Informal and Open solicitations will remain at the discretion of the department issuing the solicitation. Some departments will accept electronic submissions, others accept paper submissions. All formal, informal and open solicitations will continue to be advertised on our website: Link to our website

Press Release: NEW Certification Accepted to MFD Program!
Montgomery County’s Office of Procurement will add the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ “Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business” certification to the County’s Minority, Female and Disabled (MFD) owned business program starting Friday, Oct. 1. View the Press Release here.

Press Release: Montgomery County Office of Procurement Wins a NACo Achievement Award
The Montgomery County Office of Procurement won a National Association of Counties (NACo) Achievement Award in the category of Information Technology for the DPO Violation E-Notification and Response System. The Office of Procurement has received seven NACo awards in the last 10 years. In the past two years, Procurement received four NACo awards. View the Press Release here.

Press Release: Montgomery County Procurement Recognizes Small Business Month with Launch of Vendor Innovation Portal for Small Businesses
To recognize Small Business Month in May, the Montgomery County Office of Procurement is launching a new web-based service to connect vendors with County departments. The Vendor Innovation Portal (VIP) will allow businesses to introduce their company and connect with the most appropriate contacts in the County that could best utilize their goods or services. This initiative is a positive step in encouraging innovation and finding best value solutions to the challenges faced in government purchasing. View the Press Release here.

Press Release: Montgomery County Designates All Informal Solicitations to Local Businesses More than $2 million in informal solicitations awarded in FY20
As part of County Executive Marc Elrich’s effort to assist local small businesses to recover from the COVID-19 recession, the director of Procurement will require all informal solicitations to be reserved under the Local Small Business Reserve Program (LSBRP), starting on April 1, 2021. In Fiscal Year 2020, $2,026,173 was awarded in informal solicitations. View the Press Release here.

Waiver of Regulations to Waive the Direct Purchase Threshold for Seamless Docs Purchase with Bizodo, Inc.
The Department of Technology Services (DTS) has requested a waiver of the Direct Purchase threshold ($10K or below) under Montgomery County Procurement Regulations 1.1.2, to allow DTS to purchase Seamless Docs Software As A Solution (Saas) from Biz.

Elrich Announces Local Business Preference Program as He Wraps Up 4Business Listening Tour
Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich is forwarding legislation to the County Council for a local business preference program. Increasing Chances for All: Press Release
A Montgomery County Office of Procurement program designed to ensure that minority, female and disabled (MFD) business owners receive a fair share of the County’s contracting opportunities is setting records and winning awards. In fiscal year 2017, MFD businesses were awarded more than 23 percent or $217,819,206 of the total funds subject to the MFD program in Montgomery County. Click here for the full press release.
Breakthrough Breakfast
The Women President’s Educational Organization (WPEO) hosted their annual Breakthrough Breakfast event on November 7, 2017. Procurement Director Cherri Branson accepted the Public Access Award on behalf of the Montgomery County Office of Procurement for aggressively enforcing the Minority, Female and Disabled Businesses owners (MFD) program to ensure a fair and equal opportunity for all businesses to compete for county contracts and changing procurement processes to create greater transparency and openness. This year, the Office of Procurement is proud to welcome Jamal Maddox (West Virginia University) and Jose Ramirez-Zamora (Montgomery College) to it's first college intern program. This year-round opportunity offers college students the ability to gain knowledge and experience in the areas of public purchasing, contract management and local procurement regulations while providing administrative support to the organization.
