Neighborhood Events Matching Funds Grant Program
The Montgomery County Government created the Neighborhood Events Matching Funds (NEMF) program to encourage people in the community to get involved, support local growth, and help the economy. The program is managed by five Regional Service Offices: Bethesda-Chevy Chase, East County, Mid-County, Silver Spring, and UpCounty. Local groups like neighborhood organizations, block groups, tenant associations, and civic clubs can apply for money to hold events and activities.
To apply, groups need to fill out an online form or email their regional office. Events must be open to everyone and should have a lasting positive effect on the community. You can get up to $1,000 for events happening between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026. The money is given on a first-come, first-served basis.
*If you need the NEMF application as a PDF or in a different language, please contact your Regional Service Office.
Important things to know:
- Events must follow Montgomery County laws.
- The grant will match donations or money you raise, dollar for dollar (1:1).
- You must show receipts for expenses before you can get the grant money.
- Make sure to send your application to the right office. If you're not sure which office to contact, use this tool to find out where your event will take place by visiting GIS webpage.
How to apply
- Submit your application. You can get the application online or as a PDF. If you need as a PDF or different language, please contact your Regional Service Office.
- Your local office will check if your event qualifies.
- You’ll get a decision. If approved, you'll receive a notice with the grant amount, up to $1,000.
- If approved, you must agree to the rules, provide receipts for your spending, and send a final report before payment is sent.
- To receive your funds your group must be registered in the County Central Vendor System. To register visit Montgomery County Vendor Registration System.
