Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center

April 10th, 2018:

We are currently managing a possible ringworm situation at our shelter. Until we are able to get test results back, we are taking a few precautions to prevent the spread of disease. Though all animals are available for adoption, we will be asking all potential adopters to wear gloves when entering our adoptable cat room.

Ringworm is a fungal infection that causes red and itchy skin. It is zoonotic, meaning it can be spread to humans. It is easily treatable, but also easily spread, which is why we are taking these precautions.
