Wheaton Revitalization Project
The Wheaton Revitalization Project is completed on time and within budget. The building’s development and construction was overseen by Montgomery County’s Department of Transportation (MCDOT). As Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), the first occupant and building owner of Wheaton’s newest office building, began moving in, County officials celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony that observed distancing guidelines. Montgomery County’s Small Business Assistance Program, which was created to provide technical and financial assistance to qualified Downtown Wheaton businesses during the three-year Wheaton Revitalization construction project, has distributed $1,186,273 to 25 businesses since the inception of the program. The Wheaton Revitalization Project will provide a government office building, below ground parking garage, and a town square as part of the Revitalization Strategy for this area.
This mixed-use development will endeavor to improve mobility, increase Wheaton Metro Station use, diminish negative environmental impacts, reduce traffic congestion and increase the diversity of employment opportunities and services in the Wheaton area.
