At 11:30 a.m. TODAY, Tuesday, Sept. 27, Councilmember Nancy Navarro will host a panel discussion with Hispanic and Latino leaders whose work in community development and business expansion has helped to shape the County. Panelists for the special Hispanic Heritage Month event will share their life experiences and achievements and discuss issues of importance for Hispanic and Latino residents.
The event will include a reception hosted by members of Montgomery County’s African Affairs Advisory Group and will feature musical entertainment and African cuisine. A proclamation will be issued by Executive Leggett. Representatives from Governor Larry Hogan’s office and the office of Congressman Chris Van Hollen will also present citations.
The County’s Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, the Montgomery County Police Department and the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service have collaborated to offer a series of free Community Emergency Preparedness classes. Click read more for more info!
