Students

Get a library card to access online English courses and ESOL resources from the library.

Study English independently online for free, using Mango Languages or Rosetta Stone.

Babbel

  • Learn English and other languages with short lessons to improve speaking, listening, and writing.
  • Access on Computer: Visit the link and click “Register”. Choose a language you would like to learn. Enter name and email address. Click “Continue.” Create a password.
  • Access on phone: Download Babbel app. Open app and click “Choose Language.” Pick the language you speak and the language you want to learn. Click “Register with Email.” Enter name, email, and password.

Basic English With Jennifer

  • Playlist on YouTube that teaches basic English, including grammar, conversation, and useful expressions.
  • Access on phone or computer: Visit link and choose the video lesson you would like to watch

Duolingo

  • Learn English and 30 other languages. Free exercises to help with speaking and writing. 
  • Access on computer: Go to link and click “Get Started” to create an account. To learn English, choose the language you speak, why you want to learn a language, and a daily goal for length of lessons.
  • Access on phone: Download Duolingo app. Click on “Get Started” to create an account.

Let’s Learn English

  • Weekly lessons with a video showing the lives of young Americans. The lessons include vocabulary, speaking, and writing.
  • Access on phone or computer: Visit link above or choose the level you would like to complete (for example, beginner, intermediate or advanced).

Learn English with free videos and lessons. Improve speaking and reading with practice quizzes.

  • Learn English by practicing vocabulary, reading, writing, and more. Access by phone and computer.

  • Access on phone or computer. Visit link and choose from list of ESL online courses.

USA Learns

  • Free English courses with 3 levels. Video lessons and activities to help with speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Access on computer: Click link and choose “Start Now”. Enter e-mail address, first name, last name. Create password (must be at least 6 letters or numbers) and confirm password. Click “Register”.
  • Access on phone: Download USA Learns English app in AppStore or Google Play. Choose USA Learns English 1, 2, 3, or 4. Open app to begin lessons.
