Immerse yourself in a life changing journey as you retrace the Freedom Trail and explore the Civil Rights Movement. Learn about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the Greensboro Sit Ins, Voting Rights, Emmitt Till and other significant events of the American Civil Rights Movement. Visit numerous sites including the Lorraine Motel, the Legacy Museum, Central High School, the home of Medgar Evers, Dexter Avenue Baptist Church and Parsonage and many more.

The MCHRC stated its strong interest in the selection of the new Chief of Police for the Montgomery County community. The Commission’s duties to eliminate discrimination, prejudice, intolerance, and bigotry in housing, recreation, education, health, employment, public accommodations, and justice are informed, supported and enhanced by the work done through the Police department. A Commissioner's Perspective....Commissioner Raul Jindal. Teaching Human Rights
in Surgical Curriculum: Annals of Surgery Open. The relatively new academic discipline of health and human rights builds upon international efforts to support universal human rights education. Dr. Rahul M. Jindal proposes that teaching of human rights, both in domestic and international situations, could be part of a structured curriculum along with medical ethics, professionalism, role-modeling, and mentoring for surgeons in training Dr. Rahul M. Jindal also suggests a pilot course of human rights be taught to global and humanitarian surgeons as an initial step before widespread inclusion for all surgeons. Read More .
Minimum Wage Notice Flyer - 2022
Minimum Wage Increase. Effective July 1, 2022, please be advised that the minimum wage rate for Montgomery County increased to $15.65 for employers with 51 or more employees, $14.50 for employers with 50 or fewer employees and for employers with 10 or fewer employees $14.00. Most employees must be paid the Montgomery County Minimum Wage Rate. Employees age 18 and under working under 20 hours per week are exempt from this rate.
