- Community Emergency Response Team - Upon completing training, CERTs are able to identify and mitigate potential hazards in the home and workplace, help themselves and their neighbors until professional responders arrive, and participate in projects to enhance the public safety of their communities.
- American Red Cross - The Red Cross offers numerous trainings including CPR/AED, First Aid, babysitter training, and more.
- FEMA Independent Study - The Emergency Management Institute (EMI) offers on-line, self-paced courses for people with emergency management responsibility, as well as the general public.
- Community Presentations - Have a member of Montgomery County's preparedness team talk to your community group about how to better prepare for emergencies.
