Commissioner Steven Rosen was appointed to the Montgomery County Ethics Commission in May 2014. He has been retired from the active practice of law since 2012. Prior to his retirement he was a partner in the College Park law firm, Willoner, Calabrese and Rosen P.A. from 1980 through 2012. His practice consisted of a wide range of civil trial work throughout Maryland, including, contracts, family law, negligence, and workers compensation. From 1974 through 1979 he was with the law firm of DePaul, Willoner and Kenkel, P.A. practicing primarily civil work. From 1983 through 2012, he was a member of the Maryland State Bar Association Ethics Committee and from 1992 through 2012, a member of the Prince George's County Bar Association Ethics Committee. He has also served on several Attorney Grievance Commission panels. In 2001 he was elected as a Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation.
Mr. Rosen earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland in 1971 and his law degree at the Georgetown University Law Center in 1974. He has been a resident of Montgomery County since 1981 and is married to a retired Montgomery County school teacher. He has two grown sons and 4 granddaughters.
