MCFRS is responsible for conducting a thorough health assessment. Guidelines for the health assessment are used from NFPA 1582. Prior to the health assessment, candidates are required to print and complete several forms re: their medical history, overall health, etc. During the assessment, candidates will participate in a drug test and have blood drawn, as well as, be evaluated on a treadmill and get fit tested for Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). Candidates must successfully pass the medical exam and SCBA test to continue in the hiring process.
