Crimes Against Children: Neglect Victim Services

The following resources are available for the detection, prevention, and treatment of child neglect:

Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline

This program investigates reports of suspected child abuse and neglect to ensure the safety of children and help families stay together. This hotline responds to calls about children living in Montgomery County.

The Tree House Child Assessment Center

The Tree House Assessment Center is a child advocacy organization dedicated to reducing trauma and promoting healing for child victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect. Its services include: comprehensive medical examinations, mental health assessments, ongoing mental health therapy for the child and non-offending family members, victim advocacy, forensic interviews, nurse case management and education & prevention.

Maryland Children’s Alliance

Maryland Children’s Alliance is a non-profit organization created to better serve abused and neglected children by giving them a voice and by encouraging healing.  The Alliance works to assist jurisdictions throughout the State in creating and maintaining Child Advocacy Centers, such as Montgomery County's Tree House Child Assessment Center.

Child Welfare Information Gateway

Formerly the National Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information and the National Adoption Information Clearinghouse, the Child Welfare Information Gateway provides access to information and resources to help protect children and strengthen families.
