FareShare for Employees

The FareShare Program encourages the use of transit and vanpooling by employees working in Montgomery County by matching employer contributions.

Employees benefit from FareShare:

  • Save money on commuting by receiving transit subsidies up to $265 to help pay your commuting costs tax free
  • Montgomery County will match the benefit offered by your employer up to 80%/employee/month for using the FareShare Program
  • Help reduce traffic congestion and pollution

Employees Don’t Have to Live in Montgomery County to Participate

You can live anywhere and still be eligible for cost savings for transit trips, benefits for bikers and walkers, telework options, and tax incentives – as long as your employer is in Montgomery County.

Share the Benefits of FareShare with Your Employer

If your employer does not already have FareShare set up, encourage your employer to explore the benefits for the business and its employees. It’s easy to set up.

  • We can help create a commuting benefits program tailored to your employer’s needs
  • Employers can help pay for their employees’ transit and vanpool commuting and lower their taxes
  • Employees receive enhanced benefits at a lower cost and save money on their commute
  • Together both employers and employees help reduce pollution and congestion
