US 29 Mobility & Reliability Study

The purpose of the US 29 Mobility and Reliability Study is to identify improvement(s) on US 29 to complement the investment in US 29 Flash and improve overall corridor travel time and reliability performance for all users. In addition, the study is developing recommendations to address pedestrian and bicycle access and safety for the stations between the Silver Spring Transit Center and Tech Road.

Study Update February 2021: Study findings were presented to the Montgomery County Council Transportation and Environment (T&E) Committee on January 27, 2021. The Committee staff report can be found here and a recording of the briefing here . The T&E Committee requested additional study of the alternatives. That additional work is underway and the US 29 Corridor Advisory Committee met on November 16, 2021.
